Announcements
Grace, mercy and peace, from God our Father,
and Jesus Christ our Lord. 1 Tim. 1:2

This morning, we have the privilege of celebrating the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper.  This is a special occasion for the congregation, at which time believers have the opportunity to declare in a visible way the death of the Lord Jesus Christ and have communion with Him.  As we worship the Lord today with the sacrament of communion this morning and with a post communion message of reflection this evening, we wish to extend a welcome to all.  Rev. L.J. Bilkes will bring God’s Word to us and administer the sacrament.

If a friend or visitor would like to partake of the Lord’s Supper, he or she is requested to contact the Elders prior to the communion service.

The Consistory will meet tomorrow evening at 8 p. m.

On Thursday, Rev. L. Den Butter and family will be arriving from the Netherlands.  Rev. Den Butter will be bringing God’s Word to us for next three Lord’s Days, D.V.

Church Family – Friday morning Philip and Rebecca Laman received, from the Lord, a healthy daughter.  They have named her Tirzah Adriana.  May the Lord give the parents grace to raise this child in the fear of His name and fulfill the promise of His covenant in her heart and life to the His glory.

We extend our condolences to Ron Prol and family.  Ron’s sister Doris Makatics passed away on Friday. Visiting will be at Scanlan Funeral Home on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and the funeral service on Tuesday at 11 a.m.

Vacation Bible School – VBS begins tomorrow.  Much planning and preparation has taken place and we covet your prayers for this effort of work in God’s kingdom.  We pray for the Lord’s blessing on His Word as it is brought, possibly even to some child who may not have otherwise heard the Gospel.  We would ask that children of our congregation arrive early (9:00) for registration.  This will help the sign in process move along for a 9:30 a.m. opening.

We are looking for volunteers to help clean up and reorganize the classrooms on Friday at noon in preparation for the evening program.

Friday evening at 7:30 the VBS closing program will be held.  All are welcome and invited to attend.  Ladies could you please supply baked goods/finger food for after the closing program.  Thank you in advance.

From the Deacons: The deacons would like to present our church with the opportunity to place Bibles in the hands of our soldiers in Iraq, and other areas of the world.  Through the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ International, the soldiers will be sent a “rapid deployment kit”, consisting of a pocket sized New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs, a daily devotional, and a small booklet that clearly shares the gospel. The total cost for each kit is $3.25 and is small enough to be carried in a soldier’s pocket and is packaged in a water-proof bag. Starting this Sunday and next, we will designate the mission/evangelism boxes at the back of the church to be used for this purpose.

Services on the Web – Our worship services are now ‘Live’ on the web in addition to the telephone call-in service.  You can search for our church on SermonAudio.com or access it directly from our church’s website.  Contact Philip Laman if you have any questions.

If any man hear my voice, and open the door,

I will come in to him.

Rev. 3: 20

What is your desire today?  Is it set upon heavenly things?  Do you long to enjoy the eternal love of your heavenly Father?  Do you desire liberty in very close communion with God?  Do you aspire to know the heights and depths and lengths and breadths of God?  Then, you must draw near to Jesus.  You must get a clear sight of Him in His preciousness and completeness.  You must view Him in His work, in His offices, and in His person.  He who understands Christ receives an anointing from the Holy One, by which he knows all things. (1 John 2:27)  Christ is the great Master-key to all the chambers of God.  There is no room in the house of God which will not open and yield all its wealth to the soul that lives near to Jesus.  Are you saying, “If only He would make my heart His dwelling place forever”?  Open the door and He will come in.  He has been knocking for a long time so that He may fellowship with you and you with Him.  He dines with you because you have invited Him into your heart.  You dine with Him because He brings the provision.  Open the portals of your soul.  He will come with that love which you long to feel and the joy that you cannot find on your own.  He will bring peace with the wine and sweet apples of His love and cheer you until you have no sickness but that of “love o’erpowering, love divine.”  Only open the door to Him, drive out His enemies, give Him the keys of your heart, and He will dwell there forever.  Oh, wondrous love, that brings such a Guest to dwell in such a heart!
