Announcements
“Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.” Jude 2

A warm welcome is extended to the congregation gathered today.  May the Lord prepare our hearts for worship that is acceptable to Him.

Today we will have a Preparatory Service for the Lord’s Supper, which we hope to celebrate next Lord’s Day.  As a church we practice “close communion” meaning that the sacrament is open to confessing members of this congregation in good standing along with those visitors who have requested of the elders to attend.

Congregational Meeting – A congregational meeting of male members, for the election of an elder and deacon, to serve the Lord's church for a four year term will be held tomorrow evening at 8 p.m., the Lord willing.  The consistory members whose terms expire are Elder Jacob VanWyck and Deacon John Prol.  The Consistory has nominated, for a four year term, for elder, Donald Densel and John Prol and for deacon, Philip Laman and Duane Rogers.  Consistory will provide a report to any household that does not have a male member represented. May the Lord as the King of His Church add His blessing.

A Prayer Meeting will be held on Wednesday at 8 p.m.  Join with others of the congregation for a time of meditation and prayer.  “Behold now, I have taken upon me to speak unto the Lord.” Genesis 18:27.

Volunteers led by Paul Laman will serve the evening meal at the Market Street  Mission on Thursday at 4 p.m.

Church Family –Please continue to remember Mrs. Tona Decker in prayer.  She has been moved from the hospital to the Christian Health Care Center for further care.

The Chenaniah Choir with the NRCS choir and band will present their winter  concert at the NRC school on Tuesday, December 13 at 7:45 p.m.  All invited to attend.

Mission Update – Safety is always a concern in third world countries. Over the years our missionaries have experienced incidents where wallets have been snatched, pockets slit with razors, cars broken into, computers stolen as well as cameras and other personal equipment. Earlier in the year Lia Kattenberg had a scary incident when she was approached while preparing to leave her home with the car. Thankfully she was able to get back in her home and the man disappeared. The mission committee has always taken this danger seriously and we keep a certain amount of funds set aside for emergency use. We are thankful that no serious personal attacks have occurred. Please pray that God will continue to give His protection to our missionaries as they go about their work from day to day. Meditation

Let none then pretend that they love the brethren in general, and love the people of God, and love the saints, while their love is not fervently exercised towards those who are in the same church-society with them. Christ hath given it you for a trial: he will try your love at the last day by your deportment in that church wherein you are. The apostle tells us, 'He that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, will never love God whom he hath not seen.' I am sure I may say, he that exercises not love towards the brethren whom he doth see in that relation wherein Christ hath appointed him to exercise love, loves not the brethren whom he doth not see, and that he hath not that peculiar relation to, and acquaintance withal. The great Lord and guide of his church binds it upon all our spirits and consciences; it is our life, our being. I declare unto this congregation this day, I witness and testify unto you, that unless this evangelical love be found acted, not loosely and in general, but among ourselves mutually towards each other, we shall never give up our account with joy unto Jesus Christ, nor shall we ever carry on the great work of edification among ourselves. And if God be pleased but to give this spirit among you, I have nothing to fear but the mere weakness and depravity of my own heart and spirit. This is the great way Christ hath given us to exemplify our obedience unto that great and holy command of love to his disciples; and great weight is laid upon this duty.
